The Flower Festival

FLOWER FESTIVAL 24TH-27TH MAY 2024 

Theme; St Mary’s in Bloom

This is an annual festival that usually takes place during the LAST Bank Holiday in May. Volunteers from the church and local community come together to put on a wonderful, vibrant and energetic display of flowers following a chosen theme. Come join us for refreshments a light lunch and delicious homemade cakes. Free Admission 

The children from Whaplode Primary School fully take part in the displays as well as other local individuals and community groups.

Whaplode Village Hall 25th & 26th Whaplode Past and Present and Monday 27th Craft Fair. Open 10.00 – 1500 hrs Free Admission

 

Various Displays of Past Themes

Alongside this we have many varying events held in the Church and Village Hall over the weekend to suit all tastes and ages including church and tower tours. The flower festival is run by volunteers who also run the various stalls ie; Book and puzzle, Bric a Brac, and Produce stalls.  In the Church itself refreshments, lunches and teas with wonderful homemade cakes are always available.

We are raising funds for a New South Aisle Church Roof in desperate need of replacement we are hoping to have raised enough funds to start the work in 2025 but we have at least another & £100,000 to raise. Please come and support us.

10.00am till 4.00pm Flower Festival, Various stalls including Bric a Brac and Fresh Produce and Refreshments, with Delicious Homemade Cakes and light lunches available. Gluten and Lactose Free options available upon request.

Buy your Raffle Tickets for the Grand Draw while you are visiting, the draw will take place on the 2nd June 2024 during the morning service @ 10.30am. All are invited to join us.,

Things to do

Name the Bear or Bunny competition.

Saturday 25th May Adult and Children Bakeoff competition entries to be dropped off in the church by 11.00 am. Prizes for 1st places.

Take A History Tour Daily or use your phone and access the QR Codes placed around the church or use the 360 Virtual tour.

Tower Tours  afternoons only from 13.00 Allow 11/2 hours- Flat shoes and long sleeves are required. Children over 8yrs and accompanied by an adult.
